The ForbesBLK 50: Money Masters 2026

Our second ForbesBLK 50 list spotlights the most powerful and wealthiest Black Americans in alternative investments and introduces two new billionaires.

The 2026 Money Masters represent a continued shift in who holds capital, who shapes markets and who defines the future of wealth in America. From private equity and hedge funds to venture capital and asset management, these leaders are building influence at the highest levels of finance.

For this year’s package, we partnered with Brooklyn-based artist Adrian Brandon to visually interpret the list through a lens of growth and evolution.

Rather than presenting these figures as static, fully polished icons, the portraits intentionally feel like sketches — works in progress. Visible brushstrokes, unfinished edges and layered color suggest movement and momentum. The idea: wealth, legacy and power are not fixed states. They are constantly being built.

The Forbes 250: A Dual Visual System

The Forbes 250 officially launched in celebration of America’s semiquincentennial. Throughout this milestone year, Forbes is spotlighting the spirit and evolution of the American Dream across print, digital and live events nationwide.

We began the six-part, year-long series with the Innovator 250, published on February 11 in honor of Thomas Edison’s birthday, grounding the project in both invention and legacy. The launch included:

Visually, the project was conceived as a unified franchise with distinct expressions for each era. The Living and Historic lists operated within one cohesive system — rooted in America’s legacy of breakthrough thinking — while maintaining clear differentiation between past and present.

A playful nod to heritage appeared in the Historic list through the use of an archival version of the Forbes logo, reinforcing the publication’s long-standing role in documenting innovation.

Across both lists, roughly 75 visuals were curated through a deliberate mix of refreshed archival material, selectively sourced new photography, newly commissioned photoshoots and, where needed, photo-realistic illustration. Underutilized legacy images were re-edited to elevate figures such as Elon Musk, Vlad Tenev, Kris Jenner and Vinod Khosla, while new photography was commissioned to bring contemporary weight — most notably for cover subject Sam Altman.

AI enabled early scenario modeling, allowing visual planning to begin months before final editorial delivery. Rather than waiting for a locked list, preliminary scenarios anticipated inclusions and asset needs, giving the team time to research, refresh and secure imagery ahead of close.

The result was a unified visual system designed to carry the complete six-part Forbes 250 series.

The 2025 Forbes Global 2000

For the 23rd annual Global 2000 list, the editorial team broadened the scope by introducing eight new country-specific rankings. To lead the package visually, we commissioned a custom illustration from South Korean artist Jisu Choi, whose bold, modern style anchors the project and underscores the list’s international reach.

Each of the new regional lists features striking full-bleed photography of major cities—from Toronto to Tokyo—bringing a sense of scale and power to the expanded coverage. The creative direction ensured that each list felt distinct while maintaining a cohesive visual identity.

Forbes 2025 World’s Billionaires List

I’m excited to announce the launch of our 2025 World’s Billionaires List! Forbes has been scanning the globe for billionaires since 1987. We found 140 of them that first year. It took two decades for their numbers to swell beyond 1,000. Then there were 2,000 in 2017. Now, eight years later, another milestone: 3,028 entrepreneurs, investors and heirs make up this year’s ranking, 247 more than a year ago. Not only are there more of them, but they’re richer than ever, worth $16.1 trillion in total—up nearly $2 trillion over 2024.

Behind The Scenes

It’s always fun to share behind the scenes moments from shoots. This one took place in the UFC headquarters in Las Vegas. While scouting the space, we loved the idea of photographing Mr. White against a photo backdrop of an actual bloody mat after a UFC match. This is why shooting on location can be so fun, you get to be creative in an unknown space on the spot. The pressure is on!

2nd Shot: Photo Director, Robyn Selman, and I watching the shots come in on the laptop.

3rd Shot: We photographed Mr. White in his private viewing room where he often reviews fights.
